albionspeak 2: the gates of dis (10.2)
SESSION 58: 2ND NIGHT, 9/19/99
Tonight’s invocation: (for once) a poem I had memorized, Shakespeare’s
Sonnet 30, “When to the sessions of sweet, silent thought…” I had chosen this
sonnet (of the 21 I’d learned so far) because it refers to memory. Memory,
however, would not be our subject for another two nights.
11:18 PM
1. Q: [Guide], are you there?
A: I AM
2. Q: Are we at the grotto?
A: I AM HOVERING OVER ITS STARS
3. Q: Is there an exercise?
A: IT IS AN EASY ONE
4. Q: What should we see?
A: IT IS [THE] CUP IN [THE] CORNER
[CUP]
Last year we’d used our flower symbol in the lower left in an
exercise. Now we moved to the lower right.
5. Q: Just the cup? Any further instructions?
A: IT IS TO EMERGE OUT OF [THE] DARK AS IF DRAWN IN LINES
OF FI…
6. FIRE
I AWAIT
7. Q: We are doing so now.
A: I JOSEF SPEAK [slow]
Josef
8. Q: Josef, we greet you.
A: I AM GLAD TO BE WITH YOU MY SONS
9. Q: What must be learn tonight?
A: I AM HERE ONLY AS MASTER OF DREAMZ
I ADDRESS YOU BOTH IN TURN
10. Q: Whom do you address first?
A: ALBION AFTER HIS A…
11. ADVENTURE IN INTENT
12. Q ([Albion]): You refer to my lucid (l-) dream: I Dance?
A: I DO
I HAVE SEVERAL THINGS TO COMMENT
13. Q ([Albion]): I knew it was important.
A: IT INDICATES NEW ENERGY & NEW DANGERS
New Energy & New Dangers
14. Q ([Albion]): We are already aware of some dangers.
A: I HAVE SOME ADVICE TO YOU ALONE ALBION
15. Q ([Albion]): Please continue.
A: FIRST YOU MUST NOT CALL ON ANY PERSON BY NAME
[NO] TEACHER
16. Q ([Albion]): I acknowledge the error.
A: INTEND AWAY FROM NAMING ANY OF US
17. Q ([Albion]): What is the danger?
A: IT TENDS TO ATTRACT TRAVELLERS AND MAY…
18. EVEN ALERT A PREDATOR IF ONE HAS BROKEN
[THE] TRUCE
Here the pronoun “one” is ambiguous.
From the Leopard to the Cup
19. Q ([Albion]): But I should still call on our guide ([Guide])?
A: [NO] LET US GO OVER [THE] CURRICULUM ONCE MORE
20. Q ([Albion]): Please proceed.
A: [THE] FIRST TASK IN A DREAM OF INTENT IS [THE] OBJECT
IT MUST BE SUMMONED TO HAND
21. Q ([Albion]): A leopard? [seriously?]
A: [NO] I THINK YOUR OBJECT MUST BE CHANGED
22. Q ([Albion]): It was appropriate once, but not now?
A: EXACTLY AND YOU CAN SEE WHY
23. Q ([Albion]): [No, not at all] Explain why:
A: IN TIMES OF LOWER ENERGY WE WANT YOU TO HAVE
IN MIND A POWER ANIMAL
24. Q ([Albion]): Please go on.
A: AT THAT LEVEL INTENDING [THE] ANIMAL IS MORE IM…
25. PORTANT
THAN [THE] STATUS OF DREAM AS…
26. YOU SAY
WHETHER ONE IS AT K…
27. AT K OR AT L
[THE] IMAGE IN OTHER WORDS COME…
28. COMES BEFORE [THE] ISSUE
OF REACHING [THE] LEVEL OF DREAMS OF INTENT
29. Q ([Albion]): Can you assign me an object?
A: [YES] AS YOU HAVE GUESSED IT IS TO BE OUR CUP
YOU ALREADY KNOW THAT YOU CAN PICTURE IT
NOW YOU MUST CALL FOR IT
30. Q ([Albion]): I didn’t guess. I thought of a book.
A: YOU TELL ME WHY YOUR GUESS IS NOT A SUITABLE OBJECT
31. Q ([Albion]): Reading is a distraction.
A: IT IS TOO APPEALING TO YOUR INTELLECT &…
32. TO [THE] CRICKET
33. Q ([Albion]): Is there anything more for me at this time?
A: [YES] I MUST ALERT YOU TO ANOTHER DANGER
Albion Figures
34. Q ([Albion]): Please do.
A: IT CONCERNS [THE] ALBION FIGURES WHO…
35. HAVE APPEARD & WILL
ONLY CONTINUE…
36. TO ARRIVE
37. Q ([Albion]): Bill Gates, Jack Nicklaus… [also Rick Steves, all of whom look
like me, fair redheads]
A: THEY CANNOT BE ALBIONS
YOU CANNOT SEE YOUR HIGHER SELF IN DREAMING
38. Q ([Albion]): They are lures?
A: AT BEST -
AT WORST THEY ARE TRAVELLERS AN…
39. AND CAN BE ADDICTIVE
NOTICE [THE] FORM
40. Q ([Albion]): Please clarify.
A: I AM POWERFUL RICH AND SUCCESSFUL YET I SOMEHOW
AM YOU & SO CANNOT HARM YOU OR TAKE
ANYTHING FROM YOU
41. Q ([Albion]): But in the non-lucid (k-) state, I simply take them for themselves.
A: INTEND AWAY FROM ANY SUCH FIGURES
ONCE YOU CROSS OVER INTO L- AVOID [THEM] IF…
42. [THE]Y APPEAR
43. Q ([Albion]): Thank you, Josef; this is practical advice. Anything more?
A: ONLY TO REAFFIRM THAT YOU MUST GO FURTHER
44. Q ([Scribe]): Just one question (on this subject). When should the dreamer begin
to call on the guide?
A: ONLY AFTER HE HAS [THE] POWER & ABILITY TO SUMMON
[THE] OBJECT RELIABLY
To Scribe
45. Q ([Scribe]): What should I learn tonight, Josef?
A: I HAVE LESS TO SAY BECAUSE YOU ARE ALREADY VENTURING
INTO [THE] FOREST
46. Q ([Scribe]): I have a few questions.
A: I BELIEVE [THE]Y CONCERN A NEW KIND OF TRAVELLER?
Silencing Travellers
47. Q ([Scribe]): Perhaps two new kinds. First, the paired travellers who can attack
or detain remotely (by speech or song).
A: IT IS NOT UNCOMMON NEAR [THE] GATES [of Dis]
48. Q ([Scribe]): What is the correct procedure for dealing with these? ([The Shaman]
suggested calling for silence.)
A: [YES] YOU MUST SAY SOMETHING THAT SHOWS YOU KNOW
WHAT THEY ARE DOING
49. Q ([Scribe]): This is consistent with the policy of briefly naming travellers as such
aloud, and then turning away to the next thing in the dream.
A: DO NOTHING TO IND…
50. ICATE ALARM AND DO NOTHING TO
ADD…
51. ENERGY TO [THE] ENCOUNTER -
THIS IS WHAT…
52. IS HOPED FOR
Bees
53. Q ([Scribe]): Second, I believe I have encountered something new. A benign
species of traveller who can actually aid one in leaving a given scenario.
A: HOW DID YOU RECOGNIZE THEM?
54. Q ([Scribe]): I pointed to them, and I could see that they had energy. I sensed
the energy was benign. Furthermore, they did not wish to encounter me:
I accosted them.
A: I ACCEPT YOUR POWER TO DO THIS BUT I WOULD [NO]T
HAVE RECOMMENDED IT BEFORE THIS -
USE THEM ONLY FOR…
55. EXTREME SITUATIONS -
DO NOT QUESTION OR HARASS THEM
56. Q: Is there a different name for this kind of traveller?
A: OUR FOREBEARS CALLED [THE]M BEES
Marks of a Predator
57. Q ([Scribe]): Will you confirm the following marks of a predator?
A: IF YOU HAVE ENCOUNTERD ONE [THE]N IT IS TIME TO BE SURE
58. Q ([Scribe]): Travellers are paired; predators always act singly.
A: CORRECT
59. Q ([Scribe]): Travellers detain; predators assail. They can inflict pain in the
dream; travellers never do (because it is counter-productive for them).
A: PREDATORS HAVE A MUCH HIGHER ENERGY & CAN ACT
MORE SWIFTLY
60. Q ([Scribe]): Is my reasoning above correct?
A: IT IS -
TRAVELLERS INVOLVE ONE…
61. & THIS MAY INCLUDE ANGERING [THE] DREAMER
BUT NOT…
62. INFLICTING PAIN
63. Q ([Scribe]): Such pain can persist into the waking state.
A: ONLY A PREDATOR DOES THAT
64. Q ([Scribe]): There is no typical form or appearance. The dreamer must sense
their intent.
A: THEY CAN CHANGE FORM RAPIDLY & MUST NEVER BE
CALLED ON TO CHANGE INTO [THE]IR ALIEN FORM
AS TRAVELLERS ARE
65. Q ([Scribe]): Commanding a traveller to change generally disables it. Such is
not the case for predators.
A: IT IS QUITE [THE] OPPOSITE
66. Q ([Scribe]): Does it really enhance their effectiveness to “call them out”?
If so, why?
A: BECAUSE IT ALLOWS THEM TO READ YOUR ENERGY MORE
PRE…
67. PRECISELY & REINFORCES THEIR MEMORY OF YOU
68. Q ([Albion]): If a small encounter with a predator can lead to waking pain, just
how might one be affected (in waking life) by a severe encounter?
A: ONE CAN BE SEVERELY INJURED OR KILLED
BUT IT WILL BE GIVEN AN ORDINARY MEDICAL EXPLANATION
69. Q ([Scribe]): Those are my concerns on technical issues of dreaming. A recent
dream (Gates of Dis) raises issues of Outside, Underworld and perhaps
flying.
A: [THE]SE ARE [THE] MATTER FOR YOUR CONVERSATION
TOMORROW -
I JOSEF ASK YOU BOTH…
70. TO AWAKEN TO YOUR DREAMS
